Manchester-based soft furnishings and window hardware supplier Evans Textiles has been placed into administration.

Kerry Bailey and Mark Thornton, of BDO LLP, were appointed as joint administrators of soft furnishings manufacturer Evans Textile (Sales) Limited on 24 December 2024.

Its website remains active and now includes the company name Mzuri Textiles Ltd, trading as Evans Textiles.

This newco was incorporated on 17 October 2024 and is part of the wider Mzuri Group Ltd, which owns a number of blind and shutter businesses.

In its most recent accounts, Evans Textiles reported turnover of £18.2m for the year ended 30 April 2023 – slightly down from £18.7m against the prior year. Losses amounted to almost £1.8m. The group said that the business had been impacted by continuing inflationary pressures and economic uncertainty.

Administrators have been approached for comment.
