The Cotswold Co launches Home Delivery Training Academy and second depot

The Cotswold Company, the digitally-led premium handcrafted furniture and homeware brand, has announced the launch of its first Cotswold Home Delivery (CHD) Training Academy and second UK depot in Swindon.

Founded in 1996, The Cotswold Company sells thoughtfully designed, carefully crafted premium furniture and accessories. All products are based on timeless design, created to be functional and champion traceable timber that is built to last.

Located in Lichfield, Staffordshire, the CHD Training Academy provides comprehensive training for new and existing staff. The CHD Training Academy features three interchangeable room sets – bedroom, living room, and kitchen – as well as a full-size stairway, to simulate the real-life delivery scenarios that colleagues may face.

This enables delivery colleagues to learn how to confidently navigate tight spaces, bends in staircases and different floor types. By investing in the CHD Training Academy, The Cotswold Company is strengthening its best-in-class delivery, while ensuring every delivery experience is positive for customers and colleagues.

The launch of the CHD Training Academy forms part of The Cotswold Company’s broader investment focus on delivery and after-care services. Later this month, the brand will open its second UK delivery depot in Swindon, which will employ 21 people, and add 10 new vans to its fleet in time for Christmas. As The Cotswold Company grows, this will provide delivery efficiencies for the brand, enabling it to schedule more deliveries per week while ensuring that all deliveries are conducted with appropriate care and attention.

The launch of the CHD Training Academy and Swindon depot are important milestones in the brand’s growth strategy to become one of the UK’s leading premium homeware brands. By combining best-in-class delivery with an expanding portfolio of stores and marketing excellence, The Cotswold Company is helping shift more customers towards high-quality, made-to-last furniture.

Ralph Tucker, Chief Executive Officer at The Cotswold Company, commented: “We know that ordering new furniture for the home can become a stressful experience for customers. At The Cotswold Company, we want to take the stress out of deliveries and, through our investments in the CHD Training Academy, are empowering our delivery drivers to tackle all delivery scenarios and ensure a customer’s new purchase arrives in the room of their choice in a careful and considered manner.

“By investing in how our teams deliver and expanding our reach with our second depot in Swindon, we have a really strong platform to support our future growth and ensure The Cotswold Company becomes one of the UK’s leading premium homeware brands.”
