Sofa retailer DFS has announced the appointment of Bruce Marsh as an Independent Non-Executive director of the Company effective from 1st August 2024.
Mr Marsh will also be appointed as a member of the Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nomination Committee, from that date.
Steve Johnson, Chairman said: “I am delighted that Bruce is joining the Board. His significant retail experience as the CFO of Curry’s PLC is directly relevant to the DFS’s strategy. His extensive experience leading finance teams, maintaining robust financial controls and improving planning and performance, for “big ticket item” retailers will bring valuable experience and insight to the Board. I look forward to working closely with Bruce over the next few years.”
Bruce is the CFO of Curry’s PLC, and previously held senior positions with Tesco plc, Kingfisher plc and Dixons Retail plc. Bruce brings a strong financial track record over many years in retail, and in the successful delivery of large complex business transformations in rapidly changing environments.
Marsh does not currently hold any DFS Furniture Plc shares.
DFS further announces that independent non-Executive Director, Loraine Martins, has decided to step down from the Board of Directors with effect from the 31st July 2024.

Loraine has used her considerable experience in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity in supporting the Company’s People strategy.
