IKEA to open plan-and-order store in Cork

Swedish furniture retailer IKEA has unveiled plans to open a new plan-and-order outlet in Cork.

The new store will be situated at Douglas Village Shopping Centre in the Cork suburb of Douglas and is expected to be open in spring.

The new store will allow customers to order bespoke kitchen and wardrobe designs as well as book appointments with a planning specialist for support.

Douglas Village Shopping Centre shared the news stating that IKEA will be “opening soon” and to “keep an eye out for updates”.

The latest IKEA location in Ireland adds to its recent opening in Drogheda last month and in Naas, Co Kildare, and in St Stephen’s Green, in Dublin city centre, which opened within the last year.

Furthermore, IKEA plans to open another plan-and-order point store in Portlaoise before the end of 2023.

IKEA has also recently opened opened a new UK store in Stockport – read more.
