National retailer Marks and Spencer (M&S) has expanded its partnership with Fired Earth with the launch of a new upholstery and furniture collection.
The new spring/summer 2023 collection will launch during March and features Mexican influences within Fired Earth’s existing Acapulco collection.
The reimagined collection includes bedding, cushions, throws and towels, as well as the launch of new cushions. There are also two furniture ranges, called Charcoal and Blenheim.
Last year, Marks & Spencer teamed up with British heritage brand Fired Earth to create a homeware collection.
In other news, M&S has announced the appointment of Cheryl Potter, former head of the global consumer team at private equity firm, Permira, to its board as a Non-Executive Director effective from 1 March 2023.
During Cheryl’s 20-year career at Permira – a global private equity firm with €75bn assets under management – she built a highly successful track record as an investor and steward of portfolio companies, working with management teams to build better businesses. As well as leading the global consumer practice she served on the boards of scale retail and consumer facing brands, including Dr Martens, Allegro, Homebase and Birds Eye.
Cheryl has also been a passionate advocate for women in leadership, as both a founding Patron of The Prince’s Trust Women Supporting Women scheme and as the current Chair of Level 20, a not-for-profit organisation focused on getting more women into senior investing roles in the Private Equity industry.
M&S Chairman Archie Norman said: “I am delighted that a superstar of the private equity world is joining us at M&S. She brings enormous energy, passion and a strong shareholder value focus to the Board, as well as a great track record as a role model and advocate of women in leadership.”
