Online rug supplier grows top line; losses widen

Online rug supplier Melrose Interiors, part of the Headlam flooring group, has reported a growth in sales although saw losses widen.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 1.2% to £7.8m from £7.7m in 2022.

UK sales amounted to £7.6m, up 1.3% from £7.5m, while exports dipped slightly from £209,000 to £203,000.

Pre-tax losses resulted at £102,000, widening from a loss of £53,000 compared to the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Our key focus in the next financial year is to continue to grow the business and customer base whilst at the same time ensuring we remain focussed on managing appropriately our post base in the inflationary environment.”
