Suppliers of contemporary bedroom furniture, Home Decor, has reported an increase in sales and return to profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 4% to £27.4m from £26.4m in 2022.
EBITDA stood at £1.8m, up from £1.7m against the prior period. Pre-tax profit resulted at £898,000, improving from a loss of £2.5m year-on-year.
UK sales were rose 6% to £26.3m from £24.8m, while EU sales slipped from £1.3m to £1m. Outside the EU, sales fell from £263,000 to £115,000.
Stated within its report, the company said: “The increase includes a £1.8m of turnover relating to a kitchen contract that was completed within the year, in addition to customer price increases that have offset an overall reduction in customer spending in 2023.
“The reduction in spending has been driven by reduced consumer confidence due to the continuing cost of living crisis and increase in interest rates. Margins increased within the year despite continued supply chain disruptions and levels of material price inflation as customer price increases began to catch up with supplier increases.”
