Profit boost at GNG Group by converting customers to UK made products

The group behind mattress brand Komfi has reported another year of strong sales as well as a growth in profit.

According to the latest filed accounts of parent company behind GNG Group, which manufacturers mattresses and performance foam products to various industries, total sales stood at £12.3m for the year ended 31 August 2024, a decline of 5% from £13m in 2023.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £565,000, an increase from £381,000 recorded in the previous year, with year-end cash rising from £1.1m to £1.5m.

Stated within its report, the group said: “The year saw a reduction in turnover but an improved gross profit on those sales. Some lower margin work was discontinued and efficiencies achieved in the manufacturing process, as a result of investments, this enhanced the gross profit percentage.

“Additionally, we have achieved continued success in converting customers away from cheap Chinese imports to UK manufactured mattresses allowing for five-day lead times, lower stock and a positive cash impact. Higher quality goods are supplied, and there is no risk of fluctuating shipping costs.”
