Sales grow beyond £130m at fashion and furniture retailer

Fashion, homeware, gifts and furniture retailer Oliver Bonas has reported continued growth in turnover as sales surged beyond £130m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales rose 17.9% to £135.7m from £115m in 2022, further adding to its growth of 23% from 92.8m in 2021.

UK sales rose 18.3% to £132.7m from £112.1m, while EU revenues remained flat at £2.4m. Sales outside the EU rose to £547,0000 from £521,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £8.6m, slightly down from its profit of £9m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The economic backdrop led to subdued discretionary consumer spending. We remain committed to our multichannel approach and were please that despite the economic backdrop, both stores and web achieved positive like-for-like sales growth.

“Across the store estate, we continued to invest, opening seven new stores and relocating or increasing the size of eight more. On the digital side, all websites grew with the second half of the year showing a significant increase.”
